Get to the Barbados Summer Sports Camp

Although only 21 miles long the island of Barbados has managed to produce a serious number of outstanding sports stars including the legendary cricketer Garry Sobers.

It comes as little surprise then that this is the place where iconic sports people converge to present training camps for both local and visiting children.

Cartibbean holidays are perfect for everyone. The emphasis is on fun and friendship although they naturally pick up some serious skills along the way; children may choose from football, led by Mark Bright, 2nd to 5th August, John Salako from 8th to 12th August and Luther Blissett 22nd to 26th August.

Cricket is led by Gladstone Small 2nd to 5th August and 8th to 12th August or Netball led by Amanda Newton on 2nd to 5th August, Alex Astle 8th to 12th, Kendra Slawinski August, 15th to 19th and Fiona Murtagh 22nd to 26th August.

The camp is now in its fifth year and grows each time it is staged but children need to be quick off the mark as this popular event gets booked up fast; each sport can take up to 100 youngsters aged between nine and seventeen and they are then split down into age and ability groups.

Sport is a fantastic way for children to meet new friends and this is an ideal opportunity for holiday-making kids to actually meet Barbadian children as well as those from other countries taking holidays.

We think this is a fantastic opportunity for a tremendous family holiday which will please everyone; we recommend that you book soon though in order to earn brownie points from your kids!
